Rick W. Hightower is the senior litigation attorney for the firm and is certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been a specialist in trials since 1980 and is one of the 1,000 attorneys so selected out of the 80,000 attorneys practicing in Texas. He is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubble.  He has tried jury trials in defense of companies with up to $40,000,000 in controversy all over the state. He has been the lead counsel in numerous mediations and arbitrations across the state.  He is a graduate of Baylor University which he attended on a track scholarship, and of Baylor Law School. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant from the Navy. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the United States District and Bankruptcy courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts. He is licensed to practice before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, where he has submitted and argued winning briefs, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  He has written numerous articles and spoken to many groups involving the areas of collection of debt, securing collateral, defending companies from suits under the DTPA, and preparation of witnesses for deposition and trial, and mediation. He has served on the board of numerous charitable organizations including The 500, Inc. and is a patron of The Dallas Symphony, The Dallas Museum of Art and The Nasher Sculpture Center. He is a past Scoutmaster at Park Cities Baptist Church.
